About Region 7 Board

Region 7's Regional Workforce Development Board (RWDB), appointed by the Governor in consultation with the Chief Elected Official (CEO) board, plays a leading role in establishing policy for the region's Workforce Development Center system.

The RWDB selects the WIOA service providers, and shares responsibility for many other duties with the CEO board, including selection of the Coordinating Service Provider and overseeing the regional Workforce Development Center system's service delivery. Responsibilities of the board are extended to reviewing statewide and local performance accountability measures and creates committees to advise on One-Stop partner issues, youth services and services to individuals with disabilities. Boards will have greater influence on education reform initiatives where Career Pathways are emerging and in leveraging business and industry groups to establish sector partnerships.

Currently, Region 7 RWDB meets six times per year, typically every other month on the fourth Thursday of the month. The meetings are held at Cedar Valley IowaWORKS. The Region 7 CEO board meets as needed. The Region 7 operation is a partnership between Iowa Workforce Development and Hawkeye Community College.
